Every event, gathering, meet or conference involves a lot of planning, rushing around and a slight amount of chaos, no matter how well planned the event may be. All your elaborate preparations and effort could be ruined if some unforeseen risk happens. It is not possible to anticipate the things that could cause a problem, and many times it is even harder to find and prevent it in time, in the thick of things.

Event management insurance policy is made to protect your event from unforeseen damage, and this provides a measure of security and peace of mind that in certain worst case scenarios, you are protected.

Almost any type of event is covered under an event management insurance policy. This policy can be taken by the person organising the event, or the proprietor. Event management insurance is a specialised, package policy, and can be customised to your requirements.


The insurance coverage is highly customised to suit specific requirements. The basic coverage includes the following:

  • Event Cancellation: Protection from losses due to Cancellation of any event. Event management insurance also covers the additional costs or charges incurred by you to avoid or diminish a loss payable under the policy. This section provides indemnity to you for your Ascertained Net Loss should any Insured Event(s) be necessarily Cancelled due to

    • Loss or Damage to the venue due to Fire & Allied Perils and Earthquake, Flood, Cyclone. (Resulting in cancellation of the event)
    • Death of a dignitary or eminent personality due to which national/state mourning is declared
  • Public Liability: Provides cover for third party liabilities (bodily injury / property damage) arising during the Event by an Accident in the Premises where it is held.

  • Props, Set, Stage and Equipment: Cover for loss of or damage to the props, set, stage, equipment arising out of Fire and Allied Perils, as well as certain other covers, such as:
    • Fire, excluding destruction or damage caused to the property
    • Lightning
    • Explosion/Implosion, excluding loss, destruction of or damage to machinery
    • Aircraft Damage: Loss, Destruction or damage caused by Aircraft, other aerial or space devices and articles dropped there from excluding those caused by pressure waves.
    • Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage: Loss of or visible physical damage or destruction by external violent means directly caused to the property insured
    • Storm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood and Inundation
    • Impact Damage: Loss of or visible physical damage or destruction caused to the property insured due to impact by any Rail/ Road vehicle or animal by direct contact not belonging to or owned by policyholder or their employees
    • Subsidence and Landslide including Rock slide: Loss, destruction or damage directly caused by Subsidence of part of the site on which the property stands or Land slide/Rock slide excluding:
    • Bursting and/or overflowing of Water Tanks, Apparatus and Pipes
    • Missile Testing operations
    • Leakage from Automatic Sprinkler Installations,
  • Cash in Transit and Safe: Event managers insurance protects any cash in transit carried by event manager or employees, from theft, robbery, etc. Cash in a safe is also covered, and must be declared.

  • Personal Accident: Event management insurance provides cover against Accidental Bodily Injury resulting in death or disability of the named persons in the policy during the event. This covers death, permanent partial disability, and permanent total disability of any named person. An extension is available to cover blood relatives as well.

The insurer assumes that you have all the required permissions from the local authorities / government approvals etc. in place before the start of the event. It is further warranted Alternate, appropriate and necessary arrangement is made to the venue so as to continue the event during seasonal climatic changes.


The policy does not cover any damage arising from the following:

  • Cancellation of the event due to Non – Appearance of the insured artist / performers
  • Non-appearance of any person or group(s) of persons.
  • The Insured's lack of care, diligence or prudent behaviour
  • Ionising radiations
  • Adverse weather
  • Any communicable disease or threat or fear of communicable disease
  • Any fraud, misrepresentation or concealment by the Insured
  • Actual or threatened war or warlike conditions
  • Seepage and/or pollution and/or contamination
